Media Paper 2 PPE: Learner's response

  • WWW: This is superb: a joy to read! An A* in a mock exam is a rare thing and we need to guard against complacency but your engagement with media debates is simply degree-level standard.
  • EBI: In Q4, knowledge of some of the companies/distributors may have given your answer a little more authority and I found the conclusion a little confusing with the slight jump to the 2010s political climate.

  • I exceeded my target grade of a B by 2 grades.

  • Q1 - 9/9 - Mental Health
  • Q2 - 23/25 - Audience appeal of both 'The Sims' and 'Lara Croft' with complex analysis of how they are constructed and therefore could be used to portray the audiences own ideologies rather than influence them.
  • Q3 - 22/25 - Production, and also consider the role of producers and their goals as well as the consequences and alternatives 
  • Q4 - 22/25 - Industry - How the digital age and introduction of digital distribution impacts production companies and content of shows rather than how they've adapted in isolation.
